The new space race Wow! Space has really taken off (haha) in the month since I last wrote. It feels like the dawn of a new race, courtesy of Branson, Musk and Bezos. Personally, I’d quite fancy a rear facing seat in Virgin’s space plane just to watch the long fiery rocket tail pushing me into orbit. The sight of a spent booster landing back on the launch pad on its own is very impressive (scrub to 7min in the Blue Origin clip below). At around $45k per minute, I’ll be sticking with Youtube and Thorpe Park for now…
It came out of the blue, though the subject of space was very likely. It’s something I held an interest in. It began with the question: what was the space race really about, considering the cost, and after you move ‘one small step…’ out of the way? Liberty One is a thrilling and entertaining way to experience the answer.
Thankfully, I've never really experienced writers block and I think there are a few things I do which dodge it. Most important, I keep the bar very low when I have a blank page to fill. I also focus on structure and goals, and imagine what I want to see as a reader (not the author). The writing seems to flow from there.
